Obituary of Joseph Anthony Tamagna

Dr. Joseph Anthony Tamagna of New Rochelle, New York died on April 4, 2020 at age 81. Born to Nicholas and Rose (née Carulli) on March 25, 1939, Joseph was raised in the Bronx and graduated from All Hallows High School. He went on to receive degrees from Iona College, Columbia Dental School, and NYU School of Special Surgery. Dr. Tamagna served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a treasurer for the New York Oral Surgery Association. He married his wife Katherine (née Scalzo) and raised their four children — in Larchmont, NY. Dr. Tamagna was an oral surgeon in New Rochelle for almost 50 years and was an active member of the Larchmont and New Rochelle communities since the early 1970s. He was a proud and active Iona College Alum as well. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Katherine, daughter Rosette, and sons Nicholas and Joseph; (daughter Kathy Jo previously deceased). He also leaves behind Rori (wife of Nicholas), Theresa (wife of Joseph), and John (husband of Rosette), along with 10 grandchildren: Rosemary and husband Tim, Allison, Braden, Joseph, Avery, Madison, Sawyer, Rowan, Harper, Nicole; and one great-grandchild Lucas. His children remember him as an amazingly loving and devoted father who never missed a chance to tease! A trait that can be found in all of his children. His incredible sense of humor always made us laugh especially during the tough times. He was an incredible Yankee fan who loved Mickey Mantle, Joe D. and of course, Derek and Mo! We all love you and will hold you close to our hearts. Rest In Peace.
