For nearly 40 years, Phil was a mentor, teacher, hero and, most all, a true friend. He helped me at the beginning of my career and for decades after--one of the most intelligent and generous colleagues I've known. To Sheila, Julie and Amy, I offer my deepest condolences and hope some solace comes from those who really loved Phil. I did and will always have him in my heart and memory.
