Pop, as the days pass, it gets harder and harder to realize you are gone. I miss you more than anything in the world, and would give anything for one more day with you. I love you my Pops, until we meet again, I will always remember you and everything you taught me. I would not be the man I am today if it had not been for you.

First, I would just like to thank all of you for coming today to show your love for my grandfather, and support for my family during this extremely tuff time. The amount of people alone that came out for his wake and funeral, just shows how truly loved he was and how many lives he was fortunate enough to touch.
My Grandfather was a very special person and over the last few days I have had the time to reflect on all of the wonderful memories I have had the pleasure to experience by his side, and as all of you can imagine, there are quite a few, both appropriate and inappropriate for today.
Now, I'm sure everyone here has memories much like mine. They are good memories, something we'll always have to cherish. It isn't often in our lives that we come across someone so special that that person stays with you forever. My Grandfather was that kind of person.
The only way to get hurt in this life is to care. Pop cared more than most, loved more than most and was made to suffer more than most because of just how much he cared.
But no matter how many times he was knocked down or made to endure things that no one should, he just kept coming back; caring more and loving more—opening himself up to even more pain. Yet there were never any complaints or bitterness—it was the only way he knew how to live.
The kind of love our Pop felt for us was a love without condition. He may not have approved of everything we did, may not have liked some of the decisions we made, but he didn't lecture, and he didn't judge. He just kept loving us, letting us know that he was there and if we ever needed him, we could count on him to listen, to comfort, to help.
He generally lived a simple life. It didn't take much to make him happy—a phone call, a card, a chocolate bar, a bag of peanuts, a visit or even a hug before saying good night to check in on him. We were the most important people in the world to him. He lived to make our lives better and was proud of us, as we are of him.
To think that someone like him felt that way about us should make us all feel more than just a little good. We can never forget that there is a part of him in each of us, something that he gave to us and asked nothing for in return.
Money can be squandered and property ruined, but what we inherited from him cannot be damaged, destroyed or lost. It is permanent, and it keeps him from becoming just a wonderful memory. It allows him, in so many ways to remain just as alive as always—alive through us.
There have been and will be times in our lives when situations arise where we'll want so much to talk to him, be with him or ask him just what we should do. I hope that, when those times come, we can begin to look to each other and find that part of him that he gave to each of us.
We can learn to lean on each other and rely on each other the way we always knew that we could with him. Maybe then he won't seem quite so far away.
So, for your wisdom, your humor, tenderness and compassion, your understanding, your patience and your love; I thank you, Grandpa. After you Pop, the mold was indeed broken.
Thank you so much. I love you and will never forget you. Rest in Peace.

To Arline and Bunny , our sincere condolences on this sad occasion. Every summer when I visit Bun she fills me in on your family -- you and that handsome guy I first met when we were kids visiting at our Grandmother's house in Stamford so long ago. The unsung true hero is the man who worked hard, loved his family, and had good friends. Billy was one of them.

Arlene, Debbi, Bibbs & Karen; I am so saddened to learn of Bill's Passing. Everyone in the Dillon Park Neighborhood has fond memories of Bill, who dedicated his free time not only to his family, but to his neighbors, friends, anyone in need and especially the children (which we once were, believe it or not!!). Throughout the years, I would call Bill and Arlene from my home in Ft. Lauderdale. Despite his failing health, Bill always stayed positive, more concerned about giving me encouragement on the everyday issues I faced, as opposed to worrying about himself. I was blessed to have had the privilege to meet with Bill and Arlene for breakfast and dinner last month when I took one of my very few trips back home. Bill was truly an inspiration to us all and your family should be VERY PROUD of your husband, father and grandfather who has had such a profound and positive impact on all of us. BILL, you watch has ended, we will take it from here, until we meet again RIP my friend!!

Arline and Family, I am sorry to hear about your loss. All of my memories of Bill are as a child . The biggest one being the Block Party's that he was a very big organizer of... all the games and fun we had on Locust Terr. The next would be the squirrel " Baby". Our families were all so close growing up, our neighborhood was the BEST ...My thoughts and prayers for your family during this painful time. Bill will be missed by many.

Arline & Family, We're so sorry for your lose. We always had good times on Locust Ter. I'll never forget the time when Frank & Bill took my old Station wagon to pick up parts and it ran out of gas. Bill look over at Frank and said "What is your wife crazy., you own a gas station. What does she think that E means Enough? Every time my gauge is on E. I think of Him and say," it's enough Bill." You've touched so many lives with your sense of humor, kindness, and for just being you. You will be missed by all.We Love you Bill. Now you will be circled in Gods Arms. Love Forever, Frank & Pat Meeske
