Benita was truly an amazing human being. She always took the time to help others. I worked with her when she was a Casa worker, and she helped me with my own son who I adopted. She was truly a ray of sunshine who made time for everyone. What a huge loss. I truly loved her. Taryn Callahan

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman. Benita and I worked on many CASA cases together. She was a mentor, a friend, and a true advocate for people in need. Heaven's gain is our loss.

I had the privilege of working along side Benita for 10 years at CASA. I interviewed with Benita when I first started my CASA journey in 2010. She was an incredible woman who was always a bright light despite the hard work that we were doing. She always had a kind, encouraging word and a smile on her face. She was a source of great knowledge and support no matter what the situation. My condolences to her family, as I know how much they meant to her.

What a beautiful memorial! Knowing Benita in a professional capacity as a CASA worker for about 20years, I can say it captures the essence of the Benita I knew - always looking out for the underdog and searching for ways to improve the lives of the children and families she served. She was a frequent presence in my courtroom, where her opinions were very much valued. I will miss her dearly. My sincere condolences not only to Benita's biological family, but to her extended family of those who had the privilege of having Benita in their lives as a friend and advocate.
